FAQ

Lock-up (pre-plaster) inspections in Beveridge: common questions

How does bracing get cut after frame?

A plumber or electrician needs a path and goes through it. The brace passed at frame and is broken a week later.

Why look at ducts at lock-up?

The ducts are in and easy to see. Crimped or tight bends restrict airflow to rooms, and once insulation goes over them they are hard to reach.

What happens to frame defects that were not fixed?

We list them again as carried forward, with photos, so you can ask the builder for proof before plaster.

Is a breached termite barrier serious?

It defeats the protection the house was given. We record it so the installer can reinstate it before walls are lined.

Do you check windows at lock-up?

Installation and flashing where visible, plus the frames around them. Operation and finishing come at fixing and handover.

Can I visit the site with you?

Yes, if the builder agrees to your attendance. We will point out each item as we go.
